Queen Ginevieve’s (Barbie) family had been turned into swans. She set out to find a new, human life. Meanwhile, the evil villain/magician Queen Rowena had kidnapped her sisters and the prince. She made them her captives and put them in a dark castle. Ginevieve seeks a way to change her family back into their human form and reunite with her sisters. She finds a magical world where her wishes come true. She befriends one of the tricksters, who has his own set of problems.
This movie is a mix of three legends: “The 12 Dancing Princesses”, “Snow White”, and “Cinderella.” Although they aren’t even in the same kingdom, they all feature the same story. Genvieve is revealed to have a lot of bond to her sisters and tries to save them and the prince.
Genvieve has four sisters and her father is a prince. He is a swan now and they live at a swannery because they were turned into swans. She got one of the swan girls to help her get her wish. In the movie she wants her sisters, her father, and the prince to be human again. She is happy when she turns everything back. She goes home and she is happy her four sisters are back. They have another wedding and everything is over.
Genvieve and her sisters go off to the forest. They are dancing the night away to make some music. They want to find a place where they can live forever. Ginevieve’s sisters go to a magical land where they sing a song. They hope that they will all live forever. A mean wizard comes by and says they can be a part of his band. It’s a good thing they tell him no because he puts them into the monster world and they are all happy again. It’s a magical place with lots of fun things. They look for the place they can live forever.
meanwhile, rowena is spying on them and observing their activity. derek, to his and genevieve’s surprise, is spying on them. the triplets find genevieve and they both explain that rowena is trying to poison their father and that they’re going to run away. the trio runs to the healing fountain, but the water is gone, and they are trapped outside. derek tries to run home for help, but rowena stops him. genevieve explains that the magical kingdom is now outside of the magic realm and that the triplets are trapped. rowena threatens the triplets, telling them that they’re no longer princesses, and then tells them that they’re not even in the kingdom anymore. she takes them by their heels and forces them to dance. she causes a portal to open in the forest and then launches the girls back to the kingdom. she takes their shoes and alters their birth certificates to say that the triplets are no longer princesses.
