The most significant new feature is the new Crop tool, but it’s not available to download just yet. But let’s be clear here: Don’t expect to see the ability to crop large sections of images in Photoshop. As a matter of fact, we’ll get to see a new, flagship version of this in Photoshop CC later this year, which is confidentially announced as “2019”.
As I mentioned before, the new version of Photoshop is full of big changes. This month’s update includes a new Wand tool, an all-new Crop tool and the Crop tool in the context of pixel-level localization. While the famous Support for iPad Pro is a very interesting update, it’s just a tiny part of the new features. In fact, it’s not a new feature, it’s just named differently, the Pixel-Level Localization*. It still works with layers as it always has. Why not name it however? No one really understands the meaning of pixels anyway.
We are less than a month away from Photoshop’s 69th birthday, so I wanted to look at an old version to see what it would have looked like on a PC (and what that one looked like for comparison). However, it wasn’t until late 2017 that Adobe announced that AI will be used in more advanced ways within Photoshop as well. What this means that Adobe is integrating more AI services into their own apps, meaning Photoshop will do more of its own data analysis and run searches on its own. It’s definitely a fancy way of saying that AI will be available to Photoshop users more often, and that it will be easier to use more of it when you do need it. We’re not quite sure what the timeline for all this will be, but here’s to hoping that it’s soon.
Photoshop has been a champion of one-click editing and removing on, so it was fair enough that Adobe would start working on implementing something similar into the browser. Except, rather than use a one-click Remove, Replace and Delete function, Photoshop will use multiple cycles of the Edit > Select > “Delete” command. Now, this removes something super fast. However, it also does some smart stuff too.

Adobe Photoshop provides native support for high and low resolution 4K video files captured with the latest 4K-capable cameras that automatically create a range of sRGB and Adobe Wide Color Gamut versions of the files. Adobe also enables you to sort layers by resolution in order to configure your editing workflow for the best results.
