Evaluation and conclusion
Unsurprisingly, it doesn't hog system resources, since it needs a minimal amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. No error dialogs popped up in our tests, and it didn't freeze or crash.
Sadly, it has only a handful of options and doesn't make room for customization. We are also taking into account that Navajo Clock hasn't been updated for a long time.

Is there a standard methodology in software design for calculating the expected value of a variable?

A lot of times, I find code that calculates the expected value of a variable.

I’ve always wondered if there is a common standard methodology for calculating the expected value of variables.
The expected value of a variable is not the usual notion of a “mean”, but rather the probability of observing that specific value, conditional on all other values. This is not the same as the mean of the set of values which includes all values except the observed value.

It depends on the coding standard of the project that you are working on.
If you are working for a big company, as a part of its coding standard may be to use standard methods for everything. So you may need to use the formula of the average value.
If the coding standard is simple then the most suitable method you can use is to calculate the sum and divide it by the count.

JavaScript has the Math.random() function which will return a number that is chosen from a range that is defined for you.
For instance, Math.random() returns a number between 0 and 1 for most values of the range.
So, you could use Math.random() to get the probability of observing a specific number, provided you know what range that is.
For instance:
Math.random() * (range_from – range_to) + range_to

Above is a formula for the probability of observing a number that is between range_from and range_to.
As to best practices, I’d go with a simple formula like the one I posted above, to make sure that if someone else
