AutoCAD Crack was intended to replace many of the functions previously provided by two competing desktop-based computer-aided design (CAD) applications, namely Drafting and Graphics. History

AutoCAD was designed by Ray Duncan and his team at Autodesk. It was first released for use on December 4, 1982, by Nippon Chemi-Con Corporation (NCC) as the software product of its E&D department, with the plan to promote it as a system to streamline and automate drafting work. The first commercial version, AutoCAD 2.0, was released in April 1983 for the Apple II, Atari 800 and Commodore 64 (C64). The first version to run on a microcomputer, an 80286 PC-compatible computer, was AutoCAD 3.0 in July 1983. In November 1984 the Macintosh version of AutoCAD was released.

When released, it was the first CAD program to be released for personal computers. It also included the first mouse support and the first line style. AutoCAD 2.0 was developed by three programmers: Rudy Graham, Mike Boyle, and Mark Baker.

The name “AutoCAD” originated from a mis-spelling of “automatic drawing,” originally intended to be called “AutoDraw” when the name was first proposed to the NCC.
