in the second video i show you how to re-cable the printer’s original plug which will probably help with the original problem of no ink. i also show you how to remove the printer’s battery (to drain out the ink, and possibly (if the printer has one) remove a stubborn partition and restore some of the original files and utilities). i also include a video of my complete repair of a broken epson wf4520 which was and ink cartridge broken. you don’t even need the official software to read the eeprom to make a repair. all you need is to be able to read the eeprom and set the printer to repair mode. it may also help if you are ever able to get your printer’s user guide for which version of the printer you have. so without further ado, here it is. the video starts at the beginning of the second chapter. it is just a little under 5 minutes long.

i have a printer which has software that already has the latest firmware (2020) so i cannot get the task done. it wants me to get my usb cable or the drivers first and it also requires a serial number but i have none. i do have a key stroke combo and a button (i have no clue what it does but i may play with it and see). my printer is starting to print all black. i am a capable computer user so i’ve been trying to follow the instructions but it doesn’t make sense to me. may be the try these steps again help? i will be getting all the stuff needed in the next several days and will be sure to post back in a short time – any help is greatly appreciated as i’ve been struggling with this for the last 3 days. thank you for any help in this regard.
washed the ink cartridge and printed a test page. the printer does not allow the print head to retract after the page is printed, i.e. no paper left in the tray. so the printer is not “ready” to print. i tried all the troubleshooting instructions for epson printers on the internet without any success. any help is appreciated. also the firmware is “2020”. update?
i was trying to update the printer from v 2.02 to v 5.02. i purchased the printer from usa in 2008. around the end of 2014, my printer ran out of ink and i sent it to epson for refurbishment. on december 1, 2015 i received back the printer and software from epson. they told me that the cartridge was not compatible with my printer and i have to buy a cartridge. i have already bought the ink cartridge, so i am stuck with what is available at the store, i have no way of sending my printer to epson for repair. i tried to use the tool provided to repair my printer, but that did not help. in order for me to send the printer to epson, i need some help.
