I would like to point out that I am a very experienced user of Photoshop not a novice. I’ve used it for more than 5 years and now work as a designer for 3 years and I’ve got a script to create any image thumbnail size. I rarely need to use Photoshop for design tasks but I use it for effects and to load different backdrops on Photoshop CC. I will say that my experience cs6 is not lightyears better than cs5 and have no qualms with switching back to CS5. I can’t help but love the new and improved interface.
If you’re a Photoshop user a new look doesn’t mean improvement and I’m sure Adobe is working hard to make these changes resonable.
If you’re not a Photoshop user and just trying to pick the best tool to use why not take a look at Photoshop Express. It’s an easy to use app that can do most of the heavy lifting for you and save you time and money. I use it for my business and I LOVE IT!

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I was wondering what the best way to compress an entire folder full of PSDs would be. I have two versions, I have in the past, taken screenshots of my website, then saved them as PSDs, then used a batch operation on that folder to compress them. The old files are now over a GB in size, same amount as original file… I’m looking for the easiest way to get this done.

A layer group is the best way to save an adjustment, because it keeps that adjustment in a small, separate subunit—a handy little package—so you can conveniently recall it when you are working on other stuff later. To save an adjustment, click Layer > NewLayer from Layer Group. You can save subsequent adjustments in the same group by clicking Layer > NewLayer. But be sure to put Exit icons—like Aperture Exposure in the examples below—on these adjustment layers so you can easily remove them from a project.
