It seems that Adobe has got rid of the option to save project files, which is FINE. I would really miss my old projects if I didn’t have the option to re-open them. There is a ton of new features, but I’m having trouble finding them all. There are many tools and features packed into the new update. The ability to quickly turn on Lens Corrections, Phase Screen, Radial Blur, and others is immediately apparent. Also, the new histogram is available as a traditional horizontal bar graph or as a 3D representation of a 3D histogram.
I am on CS6 and LR 5.1 & 5.2. When creating presets it took me a long while to figure out how to create duplicates of my presets and link them to the new preset option in the button bar. I know this might be a “semantic” error but I didn’t know the “create new preset” option is actually linked with the current preset. It only took me a second to realize that and I didn’t notice it the first time.

Great review! Just got CS6 a few days ago and after setting up my lenses (havent got round to the presets yet) I noticed that in 5.2 they’ve removed some of the old tools. I actually missed the focus point information in the top left of the UI when editing RAW files, the grain display on the image itself and other simple features, but I’m pleased to see that most of the old features are still there. The easy accessibility of those old tools is very important, and it seems that Adobe have provided similar options in the new UI. I love being able to use the focus point tool with the soft box on both the right side of the screen and the live-view screen, for example, and I really think some of the same old functions and tools should be available within the UI, in addition to the new tools. The drop-down menu in the top right of the screen is a good use of space, but I felt the tools were a little stapled to a specific location, which was slightly annoying. The new album feature was interesting, and is a great alternative to zooming in and out on images, which is the initial way I look at something.
