Photoshop CC 2014 comes with a bunch of new filters that you can use to transform your images. There are filter presets that you can use to create a very specific, color filtered image. Below are some tips and tricks to help you understand the Photoshop filters and how to use them. They are named like regular Photoshop filters so make sure to look at some of the regular Photoshop filters first.

Two of my favorite tools are Guided Edit and Healing Brush. Guided Edit is a features that allows you to hide sections of your image by creating a bounding box around parts of a photo. You can use the Freeform or Rectangle selection tool to create the shaped selection and then use the Select tab to decide the areas you’d like to hide. Once you create your selection, go to the Properties panel and select ‘Hide’, and then ‘OK’. Once the area is hidden, you can continue editing the image as it will not be covered in white anymore. Using the same selection tool, you can use the Freeform tool to create a free form selection starting with an area over your art work. You can hold down Shift as you drag the selection to be able to select multiple shapes at once. Once you have made the selection, click on the selection tool, and just as you did with the Guided Edit select option, go to the Properties panel and select ‘Hide’, then ‘OK’. You can go to the Properties panel and this time select ‘Widen’ and ‘OK’. This will allow you to continue editing the images as it is no longer covered in white.
