So in the end, I chose the FlyJSim.727 complete series with the iQMI add-on. It also comes with the ScrollView airdrome and some widgets for the DME. It also comes with some X-Plane plugins for: VREF, Landing Distance, Power, Flight Modes and more. The ability to change the FMI is also a plus. Note that the iQMI popup window has been improved a lot. But there is still room for improvement. In fact, if youve ever seen a 747 FLIGHT sim (yes, we all know there are some) then you may find this iQMI popup is not as great as the 707 iQMI popup.
Now the folders which are in the Sound and Flight Dynamics folders where created using the X-Plane 11 Gaming Software. A good place to start is the sound folder, which seems to be exactly what we expect a sound set for a Boeing 727 to sound like. Although the flight dynamics of the 727 needs some work. There are no propeller sounds at all or collision sounds at all. Also the landing gear of the plane barely makes a sound when retracted.
I have noticed that people copy the sounds of each other. the author of the pack copy the sounds of Boeing 727 from JT8D and in the game Boeing 727 sounds similar to the JT8D sound. Now, although I have worked as a test pilot I havent flown a 727 in real life so Im not sure if its the real sound or the sounds of the JT8D a quiet engine sound. Anyway, the Flights in X-Plane are all realistic and I have a good feeling that this is the real sound.
The CIVA INS files are downloaded using the X-Plane user interface. For the passenger version, you select the package by going to X-Plane menu and selecting the Simulator->Add-Ons. You find the plugin under Other Add-Ons->General. For the cargo version, you select the package by going to X-Plane menu and selecting the Simulation->Installs and choose the plugin (xciva-131-XP1120.zip). For the cargo version, you select the plugin by going to the Plugin dialogue box, choose \”Install X-Plane add-ons (X-Plane – Elementary CS)\” and follow the steps given on the X-Plane user interface. Make sure you get the Library (X-Plane) selected while you select the plugin.
